Fabric Cutting Assistant – Chichester

Susie Watson Designs is a unique and fast growing small company. All our products are designed in house and we work closely with the artisans who make them for us. We design beautiful handmade products for the home with a stunning range of fabrics, furniture, wallpapers, paints, pottery and accessories. We currently have nine showrooms from Harrogate down to Salcombe.

Duties:

  • Measure and cut fabric for customer/store orders
  • Prepare orders for dispatch/post
  • Fulfil Customer/store fabric sample orders
  • Maintain fabric sample stock levels
  • Administer the return of 'Returnable Samples' for refund by Head Office
  • Assist with receipt of fabric deliveries
  • Assist with checking for quality control of fabric deliveries
  • Moving stock around by hand. Does require some heavy lifting

    Requirements:

    • Good numeracy
    • Computer literate
    • Good telephone manner
    • Organised and adaptable
    • Interest in fabric
    • Eye for detail
    • Physically strong

    Initial maternity cover position with potential to become permanent in this fast growing business environment.

    Part time, flexible hours, preferably Monday, Tuesday and Friday, this is negotiable.

    • IT Literate

    This role provides a rare balance, in that the Susie Watson Designs Interior Designers have responsibility for growing the business in their area whilst enjoying the team atmosphere of the local store and the support of our growing national Interior Design Service. We are looking for experienced interior designers who are able to meet each customer’s individual requirements whilst being able to express the Susie Watson look. The Interior Designers are at the forefront of our Design Service, providing professional and inspiring designs that are tailored to meet each customer's individual tastes and requirements.

    Requirements:

    • Experience in Interior Design in Sherborne and the surrounding area.
    • Sales focused with a natural desire to provide excellent customer service
    • An appreciation of colour & design, with a proven working knowledge and understanding of fabrics & trimmings
    • Practical experience in either curtain making, upholstery or general soft furnishings
    • Knowledge and understanding of measuring for curtains as the role will require site visits to client's homes to measure and advise
    • Flexible and reliable with the ability to work as part of a small team and support colleagues as and when required
    • Highly organised
    • Strong numerical and administrative skills
    • Computer Literate
    • Good communication skills
    • Driving license and own car essential.

    An exciting opportunity has become available at Susie Watson Designs. We are looking for Part Time Interior Design Advisors to join our Sherborne team. The successful candidate will be part of the in-store retail team selling the Susie Watson range and offering advice and inspiration to help our customers create the perfect look.

    Essential Skills:

    • Sales focused with a natural desire to provide excellent customer service
    • An appreciation of colour & design, with a proven working knowledge and understanding of fabrics & trimmings
    • Practical experience in either curtain making, upholstery or general soft furnishings
