Susie Watson Designs is a unique and fast-growing small company. All our products are designed in house and we work closely with the artisans who make them for us. We design beautiful handmade products for the home with a stunning range of fabrics, furniture, wallpapers, paints, pottery and accessories. We currently have nine beautiful retail showrooms from Harrogate down to Salcombe.

Web Visual Merchandiser – Head Office, Ramsbury

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Web Visual Merchandiser to join the team at our Head Office in Ramsbury.

Overview
This is an exciting role within the Susie Watson Designs web team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the merchandising of the website and assist with planning product photography to ensure our beautiful handmade products are presented to the best of their potential. This role requires a mix of both excellent visual skills and analytical skills to optimise the sales performance of the website.

Hours
Full-time or Part-time

Responsibilities
- To take ownership of site merchandising, optimising products whilst taking into account both visual coordination and product data analysis
- Hands-on involvement updating web content
- To identify key areas where web photography is needed
- To plan and assist with web product photo shoots as required
- Analyse sales performance with Google Analytics and the sales and stock data available on the in-house system
- Support with digital marketing including email campaigns

Essential skills
- Creative initiative with an excellent eye for detail and memory for products
- Passion for retail and interior design
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to make recommendations for content optimisation based on data analysis
- IT literate with a competent understanding of Microsoft Excel
- Experience of Content Management Systems or eCommerce platforms (Magento 2 ideally)
- Good working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop
- 3+ years previous merchandising experience in web or retail an advantage

Part-Time Merchandiser – Head Office, Ramsbury

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Part-Time Merchandiser to join the team at our Head Office in Ramsbury.

Overview
This is an exciting role within the growing business working with with our Stylist and Procurement team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up new processes and reports, and will work across all teams within the business. The role requires an understanding of handmade products and their manufacturing cycle within multiple categories so to manage and plan stock operations for the business. Familiarity with our brand would be preferable.

Hours
Part-time: 24-30 hours per week over 3-4 days.

Responsibilities
Reporting
Design and distribute monthly trading information, providing:
- sales and margin analysis at department, category and product level
- information and commentary around trends, KPIs and variances including best and worst sellers
- details of current stock levels by department and category and information on future intake

Attend meetings to present the information above and propose suggestions for store and web merchandising, markdown/ promotional activity, price changes and how to manage slow-moving items

Prepare analysis on historical sales trends and future targets to assist the Procurement and Creative Director with the monthly stock order

Operations
- Propose and organise stock recall between departments e.g. stores and warehouse
- Work with the Finance team to organise the annual stock within each department to ensure stock remains accurate on the system and investigate and report on unexpected variations
- Assist with any future stock-related projects as they arise. This may require continual small stock checks across the business
- Work with the shop managers to agree store stock replenishment plans in line with sales targets and seasonality, and within the stores available space in order to maximise the potential performance for each store
- Communicate to Stores and Web Team of any changes to current designs
- Communicate to Stores and Web Team with details of any new products that are due in. Ensure correct stock quantities are ordered, and Shop Managers and Web Team have all necessary details to enable products to be launched successfully

Essential skills
- At least 3 years' experience working in a merchandising team
- Excellent analytical and organisational skills
- Proven ability to work in a logical and practical way
- Confident and strong communicator
- Self-motivated, driven and enthusiastic team player
- IT literate with advanced Excel knowledge
- Experience of working with an integrated stock and accounts system. NetSuite experience an advantage

- Knowledge and understanding of measuring for curtains and blinds
- Provide quotations
- Ensure accurate completion of all paperwork
- Follow up on quotations and convert to sales
- Maintain awareness of delivery dates and advise customers accordingly
- Provide cover for the showroom manager in their absence

Essential skills
- Practical experience in either curtain making, upholstery or general soft furnishings
- Appreciation of colour and design, with a proven working knowledge and understanding of fabrics and trimmings
- Highly organised
- Strong numerical and administrative skills
- Computer literate
- Good communicator
- Able to work as part of a team
- Driving license and own car essential
