English Garden

Every dream of a quintessential English home comes with a garden: a glorious jumble of honeysuckle and roses twined around the door, bees hovering above a haze of cherry blossom and the scent of old-fashioned roses wafting through the evening air after the rain.

Regardless of whether you live in the town or the country, this idea of English life is something we all recognise. It is as familiar and reassuring as a cup of tea – which is why it is the inspiration for so many of our designs.

Particular for Auricula…

Drawing on the English garden for inspiration, this combination features pinks and greens in various patterns and textures, with a celebration of our embroidered Auricula flowers cushion as the centrepiece. Our Burgundy Silk works beautifully alongside rich Olive Velvet, with our Reverse Catkin Megha pattern adding a vital burst of freshness.

Foxglove fancies

No English garden is complete without foxglove spires in stately white and pink, which is perhaps why this Foxglove embroidered cushion is such a steady favourite. A combination of delicate needlework and richly coloured velvet appliqué makes it a wonderfully versatile addition to any sofa. It works brilliantly alongside paler and richer colour schemes alike. Sweet pea celebrations

No English Summer is complete without the delicate scent and vibrant colours of this much-loved garden favourite. The embroidery of our Sweet Pea Cushion features rich pinks and greens, which can be echoed elsewhere in a room – curtains, upholstery fabric – as well as on the sofa. Here we have chosen to emphasise the pink, by using our Mauve Rustic Megha stone-washed linen as backdrop cushions, and contrasting it with more delicate Catkin Sprig cotton cushions near the front. The effect really gives the sofa real depth, as well as providing plenty of interest.

A Rosy Outlook

This combination is a celebration of our stonewashed linens, featured here in Red Earth Megha shade. These linens are wonderfully soft to touch and have a charming fade to the colour, so that they appear more pink than red. In the below scheme, their red-earth tones are answered in the delicately appliquéd flower-pots of our hero cushion and complimented by moonflower linens and velvet corner cushions, in elegant dark green.

Snowdrops

Serenity is at the heart of this duck-egg focused scheme. Duck-egg is our signature colour and a time-honoured favourite amongst our customers. This time, our embroidered snowdrop cushion takes centre stage but we have echoed the green of the appliquéd flower-pots in our Smokey Green Velvet cushions. Sea Blue silks and Smokey Blue linens can be added in to bring further contrast and we have accessorised the sofa with one of our Shetland throws in yes, you guessed it: duck-egg blue.

Bright and Breezy

This look is perfectly suited to bright, open-plan kitchen/living spaces. A blend of soft pastel stripes and patterns is complemented by an embroidery ‘hero’ cushion – in this case, our Embroidered Auriculas Cushion.
