Indian Summer

An unexpected spell of warm, dry weather never goes unnoticed in England and the wonderfully mellow warmth of a second ‘Indian’ summer is certainly something to celebrate! But this collection is not merely eponymous of our weather, it also chronicles our close ties with India itself, where many of our fabrics and soft furnishings are made. After almost ten years of working side by side, many of our brighter patterns, motifs and colours take their inspiration from the Indian colour palette.

Couch Candy

This scheme demonstrates how dark and light can be paired together to create warmth and elegance, with a little extra punch. We have built this scheme around our Pushkar Camel Cushion, picking out its darker elements in our Charcoal Velvet, whilst keeping things light and fresh with softer patterned linens.

Ethnic Chic

Honouring the inspiration of our Indian partners, this hand-embroidered Elephant Wedding feature cushion was created to celebrate the wedding of one of their daughters. We love these rich, sumptuous colours so much, that we have given it a scheme of its own, picking out the charcoals and burgundy shades featured in the elephant embroidery.

Bird-feather Blue

Susie is endlessly inspired by birdlife – especially Guinea-fowl, which appears as a motif on so many of our products. In this scheme, we have picked the rich blue of the hand-embroidered tail-feathers in our best-selling Guinea-fowl Embroidered cushion and off-set them with patterned in softer shades of pink and red.

Mulberry Fancies

This richly autumnal Mulberry Shetland Throw is an easy way to instantly transform any neutral sofa. With hints of damson, charcoal and olive green, it works beautifully with cushions reflecting any or all of these colours. Hence, we have combined it with our Charcoal Velvet and red Shalini Linen, and crowned it with our Charcoal appliqué Guinea Fowl cushion. In this example, we have quietened the cushions and allowed the throw to do all the talking!

A champion of understated elegance, this cushion features a whole palette of soft colours that make it compatible in almost any scheme.
