We just can’t get enough of this convivial pair of hares on our sofas! The applique motif adds a touch of playfulness to an otherwise richly elegant palette of colours, emphasised by charcoal velvets and rich reds. It is the perfect addition for a sofa that doesn’t take itself too seriously; we recommend it in family rooms, studies and snugs, where relaxation and comfort are the key!
When we think of green, we think intuitively of beginnings. Where there is green, there is water and where there is water, there is life. No wonder then, that it this combination adds freshness and vitality to a room, as well as tranquillity. A feature cushion can set the tone: here, we have featured our Summer Hares, a motif which is at once elegant and quintessentially English, conjuring the timeless charm of Beatrix Potter. This combination showcases Reverse Catkin Megha Linen alongside a selection of our violet patterned linens.
Pink and Grey
This truly versatile combination will sit well in any room scheme. Grown-up and soft yet modern, it balances a backdrop of soft grey wool with stronger stone-washed and patterned linens for textural depth and interest. We particularly love the delicate patterns of our dove-grey Mika alongside the bolder, rustic statements of our Red Earth Megha cushions. We have chosen here a softer embroidered hen as our hero cushion but this scheme could easily accommodate bolder embroidered or appliquéd choices too!
Hen over heels
Yes, a sofa should invite us in but it is also reflection of the things that make us happy. A statement cushion can be playful or mischievous. Sometimes, as in this combination below, it is a nod to a favourite preoccupation. Here we have combined a passion for hen-keeping with rich red velvets and paired them both with our much-loved Indian Red Moonflower linen.
This soothing palette of colours perfectly complements a simple yet warm atmosphere. The burgendy silk really pops against our rich but muted charcoal velvet. This works well in a room where other features are taking centre stage – a sofa table or feature lamps, for example.
Marine Blue Magic
A bold mid-toned blue with a slightly maritime feel is the inspiration behind this colour scheme. Marine blues have been used since the 18th Century to make small rooms feel bigger and we’ve found it applies equally well to sofas too! We used Midnight Blue Velvet cushions as the cornerstone for this scheme and paired it with our bold Rustic Megha linens in denim blue. Together these cushion provide a richly eclectic combination of textures. The Indigo Tartan Shetland provides a vital reinforcement of colour but it is the Puffin cushion that adds the all-important touch of playful humour to ensure it doesn’t all become too grandiose or serious!
